Bekah Holt's Century Swim

Entoto volunteer, Bekah Holt, swam 100 miles in September to raise funds and awareness for the Entoto Foundation! Her effort raised important funds to cover 18-year-old Kalkidan's hip replacement surgery. The surgery was a success and has restored Kalkidan's ability to walk.
Members of this year's Kids 4 Entoto team at the Junior Carlsbad finish line.
Kids at Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School in Carlsbad, CA accomplished a noble and rigorous goal. On Saturday, April 4th, kids kindergarten through 6th grade, ran their personal best at the Junior Carlsbad to earn the support of their donors. All the money they raised from their run paid for 8-year-old Mekdes Tadesse's heart surgery.

This past February, volunteers for the Entoto Foundation witnessed firsthand how a seemingly minor contribution can have a significant impact on an entire community. For the past six years, Rich Jayne of the Entoto Foundation has been making annual visits to the small village of Yemraha, located in the North Wollo region of Ethiopia. Best known for its famous 800-year-old church, Yemrahana Kristos, Yemraha, is also known for an alarmingly high rate of health issues related to lack of iodine. Read more...
