Visit Ethiopia

We hope that you will join the Entoto Foundation on a fascinating journey that you will never forget. Some of the best runners in the world live in Ethiopia, and they are inviting us to visit their fascinating, yet often misunderstood country.  The Entoto Foundation’s athletes are Olympic medalists, world champions, and record-holders, and they want to treat our fund-raisers to a memorable experience in the best way that they know how.   You will witness their daily regimen and join them as they run at Entoto and their other favorite training sites around Addis Ababa.  Over traditional Ethiopian meals, you will get to know them and gain insight into their success.  You will visit the town of Assela in the Arsi province, a wellspring of world-class athletes, to meet talented young runners who hope to become the next Derartu Tulu or Haile Gebrsellasie.  The trip will also include an excursion to one of the most magnificent cultural sites in all of Africa, the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela.  Aside from seeing and learning firsthand about Ethiopia’s unique heritage, this will give you a chance to visit rural Ethiopia, home to the vast majority of its people, and provide insight into a way of life whose roots go back a thousand years.  Finally, and most importantly, you will meet with the patients and doctors who are directly benefiting from your contributions.  This will truly be a memorable experience.  Please contact us for details on this journey of a lifetime.
