Meet Lemlem

This is thirteen year old, Lemlem. In August 2012, she was severely burned in a house fire, suffering burns on her lower legs, arms and face. Our friend, Dr. Einar Eriksen, brought her to his Burn Care Unit where he found that she also suffered deep wounds on both thighs and legs and both knee joints contracted. He operated and grafted both legs, and corrected both knee joints. She did very well in the unit. Lemlem gradually became mobile and was ready to be released from the hospital on September 17th 2012, just in time to enroll in school! She is pictured here with her father.
